What’s In My Hand Luggage?

So I have been on my little travels a couple times this year and one thing that I plan a couple weeks in advance is what to put in my luggage and what to have with me on the flight. Now I know you have your basic essentials like your phone and passport but I always feel the need to write everything down and make a checklist of everything I need just in case I forget something – did I mention I like to plan things ALOT!?

So here is my little guide of what I take with me on the plane and everything I would need for that hour or so journey. Did I mention Edinburgh is tomorrow and im very very excited about the food, photos and the time away !!

~  The Bag  ~

I usually take this backpack with me as it has loads of pockets along the bottom to shove things like your sweets or phone charger in. It has loads of room inside too but sadly I don’t know where its from as its soooo old. If your running out of space in your luggage, it has just enough room to fit shoes or a couple of tops at the bottom.

 

~  The Requirements  ~ 

The Passport. The Phone. The Tickets. One thing I am very cautious about is the boarding passes as I always think that they wont be valid or that I’ve booked the wrong flight. Even though you can now have your boarding pass in the wallet of your phone, I feel like it wouldn’t be accepted even though it worked for both Zante and Majorca this year.

 

~  The Essentials  ~  

For me, this has to be my earplugs. I cant even book a holiday or flight without writing this down on the top of my list to get these before I go. I have suffered with my ears for many years and having earplugs just helps the journey a bit more. A book. Depending on how long I am away for, I always try and take two books with me – one in the hand luggage and one in my suitcase, as sitting on a plane for so many hours can get quite boring (mainly because I want to save my phone battery) so reading is a must. Finally, your charger. I would hate to be waiting around in the departure lounge and having a long hour flight ahead of me and arriving with hardly any battery left. #Struggles.

 

~   The Necessary   ~ 

So when I first went away with my Cousin she suggested about putting her makeup in her hand luggage and I have been putting it there every since. Going on holiday without makeup surprisingly is not a massive concern for me but I feel like its better to be safe in there than in the suitcase because if the worst does happen, I can buy clothes when away and it would be cheaper than buying at least one mascara or a foundation to say the least. SWEETS. Because of my ears, I have to have something really really chewy rather than something like Skittles as it helps the pain so much better and also because airports rip you the shit off. Tea.
